AN INTRODUCTION TO WATERCOLOUR ~ A TALK AND DEMONSTRATION:

I charge £50.00 for my talk / demonstration which lasts about one hour, plus travel costs beyond a 15 mile radius of Farnham and any car park charges. For my demonstration I paint a typical Solent or Beach scene to fit a 16” x 20” frame. Besides explaining how I started to paint watercolours I advise on the difference between some of the papers and brushes that are available. As I paint I discuss the use of colours and colour mixing techniques.

I try to pass on my enthusiasm for watercolours, which I believe any one can do - as long as they have the desire to make that first step and TRY. If there is a member who would like to paint along with me and has not painted before I can come prepared with spare paper and brushes for participation. I will even draw in the few basic lines needed. I have given many talks over the years and I have always had a suitable attendee who often produces a good picture for their first attempt. and they leave with a 10” x 8” mount so they can frame their work.

I like to bring along some of my work, which I would like to display and sell if anyone so wishes.

Travel and the talk time must be able to fit into the same day, but following retirement this can include morning and afternoon slots.
