Janet and Alan live in Farnham and have worked together as a team since their marriage, far too long ago to mention! Janet early love was painting especially watercolour landscapes depicting dramatic skies.
Janet had for a long time worked with polymer clay (you cook in the oven) and always expressed an interest in working with proper clay and to develop her sculpting ability and finally joined the waiting list for a local sculpting class. As by chance we came across a cheap potters wheel, mistake or not pottery has blossomed and painting has become a memory. But the ‘bug’ may still be hiding as experiments making decorated plaques, framed ceramic pictures is under way.
Janet simply loves pottery, even to a greater extent than her painting period. As with painting there are still times of frustration when things go wrong or the glaze application is not as expected. Yes with no basic chemistry knowledge Janet has mastered the chemical mixing to produce the three main glazes used.
Janet’s work is now available at our Craft Shows.
Alan started photography after receiving a camera from a dear Aunt. Following various camera changes Alan now uses Nikon digital cameras for his photography and enjoys capturing anything that appeals. A scanner and photo quality printer forms the basis for the printed image work we undertake.
We are phasing out this website and developing a new site mainly dedicated to pottery. We will continue with the notelets, art prints, photographs and art and photo based cards.
We regularly exhibit at craft events, particularly the Alresford Arts and Craft Fairs in the small town of Alresford (between Alton and Winchester) and visitors are always welcome at our home by prior arrangement.
